Hi, I’m Venita Belton, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor based in North Carolina and the founder of Venita Belton Therapeutic Services. I’ve been providing therapy for over 15 years, helping children, teens, and adults find healing, peace, and confidence after life’s challenges.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings — from the Serial Trauma Resource Center to hospital-based adult and geriatric mental health units, and several private practices. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how trauma impacts people differently at every stage of life and strengthened my commitment to creating a space where each person feels seen, heard, and supported.
In my virtual private practice, I offer a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. Whether you’re working through trauma, anxiety, depression, or just feeling stuck, my goal is to help you understand your story, develop new coping skills, and move toward healing at your own pace.
I believe therapy isn’t just about addressing pain — it’s also about rediscovering your sense of hope, purpose, and connection. Together, we’ll work to help you feel grounded, empowered, and ready to move forward with clarity and confidence.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, person-centered, and guided by the belief that healing happens within a trusting relationship. I tailor each session to meet your unique needs, drawing from techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and strengths-focused interventions.
For children and adolescents, I often incorporate creative and play-based methods to help them express emotions in ways that feel natural and safe. For adults, I focus on helping you recognize patterns, build resilience, and create lasting change from the inside out.
Above all, I believe you already have what you need within you to heal — my role is simply to help you uncover it, nurture it, and trust it.
